The role you’ll contribute:
The Executive Director Surgical Services provides administrative oversight and has comprehensive responsibility for directing Surgical Services for AdventHealth Redmond. This includes operating rooms, endoscopy departments, pain management services, pre-operative services, post anesthesia care units, surgical services informatics, sterile processing departments, surgical scheduling, and other anesthesia/procedural areas. This role is accountable for strategic planning, development of standardized services, and the integration of hospital-based encounters for specific age groups as defined in scope of services. Responsible for staffing standards, resource needs, and compliance of clinical and regulatory standards. Works with multidisciplinary leadership in the planning, and implementation of system-wide programs that align with the goals of the organization.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
- Oversees clinical and operational performance for all areas of Surgical Services including Peri-anesthesia locations, operating rooms, endoscopy, pain medicine, & sterile processing. Collaborates with other procedural area leadership to ensure standardization of care as appropriate.
- Works closely with system and campus executives in crafting and disseminating messages in a timely and appropriate manner to ensure employee understanding and engagement, without direct supervision.
- Assists in service line proformas, capital equipment planning, and supply chain management.
- Prepares, executes, and monitors departmental operating budgets to ensure appropriate staffing, professional development, space, supplies, and all equipment necessary for maintaining and improving the quality of services provided to patients and stakeholders. Ensures that all departments operate within allocated budget.
- Acts as a change agent, utilizing change theory to plan for the implementation of organizational change, supports staff during the change, and adapts leadership style to the situations of the change.
QualificationsThe expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
- Bachelor's in Nursing, Health Administration, Business or other related field; Master's preferred
- Current GA RN license
- Six years experience in nursing/healthcare field required
- Four years expereince in a leadership role in health care
- Five years experience in peri-operative nursing preferred
