JOB SUMMARY
The Sourcing and Contracts Manager is responsible for the sourcing and contracting process and supplier management for an assigned portfolio of contracted products or services. This position is instrumental in the execution of commodity strategies for various categories of spend and is a focal point to the business and all other areas of Supply Chain. The primary focus of this position is drafting contracts and agreements ensuring that terms and conditions are appropriate and negotiating with suppliers. In addition, this position is relied upon to monitor existing contracts, incorporate changes related to internal business needs and external supply markets that can impact contract performance for assigned spend categories, and suggests modifications to sourcing strategies accordingly.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE
- Drafts, negotiates and executes contracts for assigned categories and compares the assigned categories to industry trends and market standards.
- Continuously engages with end-users and Commodities Directors to understand market forces and impact on internal contracts and to ensure that savings objectives and targets are realized for their categories.
- Provides ongoing support for requests for non-strategic products or services as required by the business.
- Drives performance that results in year over year cost reductions through the standardization of products and pursuit of best possible commodity/service costs.
- Participates and/or leads Request for Proposals (RFPs) for new or existing products and services.
- Ensures pricing is effective and accurate in the system to enable automated buying and determine root cause of bottlenecks in automating purchases due to contract setup. Ensures accuracy and completeness of contract information in source to settle system.
- Collaborates with sourcing, business and legal team members on contract negotiations, rights and obligations and RFPs and creates agreements that enable the organization to acquire the products and services needed to run the business and grow in a way that meets the needs of both the organization and the supplier.
- Serves as a key internal interface with the Sourcing and Contracts Manager include Finance, Accounting, Revenue Cycle, business stakeholders, Supply Chain operations, Logistics, Legal, Risk Management, Compliance and Enterprise Security.
- Reviews supplier requests to alter terms and conditions, assess risk and provide recommendations that protect the organization’s interests.
- Addresses supplier questions and effectively resolves and/or escalates disputes, when appropriate.
- Assesses contracting language revisions, redline to support internal risk structure position and negotiate such with suppliers.
- Ensures that contracts are up-to-date and have all the necessary terms in accordance with internal compliance, risks and legal requirements.
- Evaluates optimal delivery/logistics options of products and engages with appropriate internal stakeholders and suppliers in the evaluation and determination of such options.
- Monitors market information, benchmarking, product introduction and other forces that impact competitive position of contracts.

QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
EXPERIENCE: A minimum of 3 years experience required
