Description

Provide language access services (e.g. interpreting and translation) for individuals who are deaf, hard-of-hearing, blind, or have limited English proficiency.

REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES

???Localization Project Management

Coordinate translation and localization projects including collaborating on project plans, budgets, and resource requirements.
Identify and use appropriate project management tools and concepts (charters, scope management, budget management, risk/issue management, communications management).
Develop and execute work plans. Set priorities for tasks based on importance and urgency.
Track progress and prepare internal reports.
Prepare documents to support project management and reporting.
Prepare and distribute project communication to internal and external clients.
Identify people, process and infrastructure needs and act as liaison to ensure appropriate systems and reporting are maintained in support of project requirements.
Create work products and project deliverables, both independently and under direction of team members.
Understand and meet expectations for deliverable quality and timeliness.

???Vendor Management

Manage relationships with translation and localization vendors.
Review proposals and cost estimates, projected utilization levels, and fulfillment of legal requirements.
Prepare process, service, and system specifications.
Provide input into contract renewal process.
Ensure contracted services meet or exceed standards of compliance for all applicable accreditation and regulatory bodies and commissions.

???Customer Service

Manage the translation and localization consultation, content, and execution for the entire medical center.
Exercise sound judgment, critical thinking and communication skills to balance clients' goals, localization best practices and established governance principles.
Show flexibility and adaptability in client interactions, changing approach or method of communication to best match clients' interest, availability, goals and technical knowledge.
Effectively translate technical or complex concepts into layman's language that matches your clients' knowledge or engagement level.

???Localization Subject Matter Expert

Spread localization knowledge by educating, coaching, and collaborating with stakeholders across the institution.

???Process and Quality Improvement:

Identify, develop, and implement new methods, processes, and systems to improve and facilitate the team's work.
Identify ways to improve translation quality and usability.
Streamline and enhance reporting processes and deliverables.
Identify and recommend procedures to enhance or maintain a high level of effectiveness in projects.
Participate in improving organizational performance through recommending areas or approaches for improvement activities.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Required:

Bachelor's Degree in a related field
2 years of experience in translation/localization project management

Advanced Computer Proficiency
Written Proficiency
Written proficiency in a language other than English
