Hershey, PA - Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center (MSHMC) seeks a dynamic and transformative physician leader who is passionate about quality, safety, and high reliability to serve as its next Vice President, Chief Quality Officer (CQO). This is a unique opportunity to join one of the country's leading academic medical centers. The CQO will work across a multifaceted academic medical center and be responsible for setting a vision, strategy, and organizational structure for quality and safety. This physician leader will drive performance improvement informed by measured outcomes to fulfill MSHMC's mission and obligation to its patients and the region. The CQO will work across departments and multidisciplinary programs to develop a platform agile in response to quality and safety events while creating policy and procedures promoting a proactive and strategic approach to continuous improvement. The CQO will partner with department chairs, and clinical and administrative leaders across the Organization to spearhead innovative, strategic, and efficacious safety programs across all modalities of care. They will be a champion for a data-driven and evidence-based approach to advance MSHMC to a national leader in quality and safety.

The successful candidate will be a physician leader with a proven record of accomplishment in driving quality and safety within a high-performing academic medical center or teaching hospital. The CQO will be a visible, transparent, clinically credible, and decisive leader who is able to foster relationships and collaboration across the Organization. The candidate must have knowledge and training in process improvement, lean methodologies, high reliability methods, change management, and a dedication to utilize data to drive system improvements through process and technology. An MD/DO degree (or equivalent) is required and completion of a postgraduate medical education in an ACGME-accredited residency program with current Board Certification in their specialty.
