Basic Requirements: United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. Education: Graduate of an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) accredited College or School of Pharmacy with a baccalaureate degree in pharmacy (BS Pharmacy) and/or a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree. Foreign education: Graduates of foreign pharmacy degree programs meet the educational requirement if the graduate is able to provide proof of achieving the Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Examination Commission (FPGEC) Certification, which includes passing the Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Examination (FPGEE) and the Test of English as a Foreign Language Internet-Based Test (TOEFL iBT). Licensure: Full, current and unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in a State, Territory, Commonwealth of the United States (i.e., Puerto Rico), or the District of Columbia. Preferred Experience: Experience with Federally funded research, Supervision/mentorship. Grade Determinations: Pharmacist, GS-14 Experience. In addition to the GS-13 requirements, must have 1 year of experience equivalent to the next lower grade level. Examples of creditable experience include but not limited designing, implementing, assessing, monitoring and documenting therapeutic plans, direct and indirect interactions with patients, providers, and interdisciplinary teams in assigned areas, performing physical assessments and ordering laboratory and other tests to help determine efficacy and toxicity of medication therapy. ["The CeMHOR Director will lead strategic planning for the research center, conduct funded research, and supervise investigators from multiple disciplines and research staff, and lead strategic planning for the research center. The Director is responsible for planning and carrying out research projects and for overseeing the work of all CeMHOR investigators and staff. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: - Directing all research, education programs, training, translational activities and administrative oversight for funded and proposed programs of research at CeMHOR;\n- Initiating, obtaining funding for and conducting original research projects;\n- Providing consultation to other investigators' ongoing projects and research proposals;\n- Disseminating findings of this research by writing reports and peer-reviewed publications and presenting findings at professional meetings and in briefings to VA operational partners;\n- Reviewing and providing quality control for analyses, proposals, reports and papers of staff;\n- Serving on national committees and review panels, including VA study sections; and\n- Oversight of all budget, personnel, operations and reporting for CeMHOR. The CeMHOR Director is expected to maintain and promote fruitful research activities and collaborations with the CAVHS academic affiliate, the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, and a firm academic base in the department in which they hold an academic appointment.\n- The CeMHOR Director provides mentoring to junior investigators and research fellows and other individuals interested in pursuing research as a long-term career. The CeMHOR Director mentors students at the academic affiliate, trainees in affiliated fellowship programs, and investigators in all aspects of health services research. The Director supervises all investigators and staff at CeMHOR.\n- The CeMHOR Director is responsible to both HSR&D leadership at VA Central Office and CAVHS leadership for communication, reporting, budget management, and personnel issues. The Director will engage with diverse stakeholders and audiences, including Veterans, investigators and staff members with diverse racial, rural, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
