Job Summary
Provides technical skills to support the use of simulation in multidisciplinary healthcare settings. Responsible for preparing and maintaining lab equipment and materials related to simulation. Operates patient simulators for the duration of simulations. Assists in training faculty in the use of simulation equipment. Collaborates in maintenance and repair of simulation equipment. Troubleshoots immediate issues with simulation equipment and all other equipment used in relation to the simulations. Works closely with the manager and coordinator in coordinating simulations.
Job Duties
- Collaborates with faculty to develop simulation scenarios.
- Coordinates the day to day activities and services of the simulation lab area including but not limited to lab setup and tear down, management of lab equipment and supplies.
- Serves as a resource to faculty in developing simulation activities in the classroom and simulation laboratory.
- Develops, evaluates, and refines scenarios utilized for simulation experiences to include role playing, props, and dialogue that provide a realistic learning environment.
- Ensures that the simulation center is clean, safe, organized and promotes safe lab practices.
- Repairs or coordinates the repair of lab equipment as required.
- Directs and maintains inventory of supplies to support all instruction in the laboratory.
- Provides professional development to effectively advance simulation as an instructional method.
- Attends user group meetings or organizational groups at the local, state, and national levels as applicable.
- Research, evaluate, and recommend new lab equipment, materials, and scenarios.
- Responds to inquires inside and outside of the organization ; may work with outside organizations in relation to providing lab services.
- Functions as the responsible vendor contact for coordination and communication as it relates to equipment.
- Provides technical expertise for all equipment including multimedia peripherals.
- Troubleshoots technology problems before, during, and after simulation.
- Responsible for the upgrades of all technology and equipment.
