Your day.
As a Manager Ancillary Workforce, you need to know how to:
- Manages licensed and non-licensed, and certified and noncertified float pool and contracted labor associates to ensure the provision of care to patients as assigned. Establishes, implements, and maintains patient care and service standards. Acts as practice change champion.
- Manages daily staffing and productivity to ensure 24 hour ancillary departments and ambulatory office hour departments are appropriately staffed. In doing so, promotes department sustainability and cost containment efforts to achieve budget.
- Partners with Human Resources, Directors or others to foster the relationships with accredited schools for Imaging, Laboratory, and Pharmacy. Ensures a pipeline of new students are being channeled into either the acute/ambulatory departments or the float pool teams.
- Assists Directors with development of annual budget, equipment needs and forecasts, and capital planning. Further assists Directors to ensure alignment on standards of care and practice, fiscal management, and quality improvement and control activities. Acts as the primary Educator for float pool and contract labor associates.
- Evaluates associate performance and provides timely feedback and opportunities for improvement. Partners with human resources business partners to address associate relations and disciplinary issues. Utilizes feedback and data from annual surveys to improve associate and physician engagement. Creates an environment conducive to professional staff growth to promote recruitment, retention, and quality patient care.
- Aligns service goals and objectives to support department and hospital strategies. Proactively develops quality indicators and quality improvements for service line/ department.
- Develops, implements, and monitors departmental policy and procedures that support the organization's goals and business objectives and ensures they are met. Incorporates department protocols for specific patient populations in planning practice and documentation. Designs and evaluates processes to improve systems and patient care results across the continuum of care.
- Develops and monitors budgets for the appropriate use of human and material resources. Monitors financial performance and identifies and implements strategies to reduce costs and improve quality of care/service.
- Partners with the Directors to determine the appropriate staff mix for departments and develops processes to screen, interview, hire, train, and maintain the competency of all float pool and contracted labor associates. Ensures ongoing associate development. Manages and resolves human resource, associate and department safety, and risk management issues.
Your experience.

Required:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited school of either Imaging, Laboratory or Pharmacy is required.
- Current license or certification in Imaging, Laboratory, or Pharmacy.
- Five years of clinical ancillary experience. Three years of experience in progressive ancillary leadership positions.
