Location: AdventHealth Bolingbrook
The role you’ll contribute:
- Manages daily operations of the central sterile supply unit sterile processing department in support of surgical procedures.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
- Develops specific departmental goals, standards, and objectives which directly support the strategic plan and vision of the organization.
- Collects and reports on data concerning instrument distribution, loss and replacement. Works collaboratively to identify and implement strategies related to product standardization, supply reduction, and cost containment.
- Manages staff relations including performance management, staff satisfaction and conflict management. May perform and oversee processes such as scheduling, recruitment, payroll and student engagement.
- Monitors departmental budgets, regulatory compliance, departmental contracts, vendor relations, and quality and process compliance of all sterilization activities throughout the health system according to industry regulations.
- Monitors quality and process compliance of all sterilization activities. Manages quality assurance programs by adjusting work product goals in conjunction with regular audits trends and metrics.
- Establish and maintain sterilization, safety and security standards, policies and procedures for Sterile Processing Department to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations.
QualificationsThe expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
- High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Technical degree required.
- Three years of experience required in Sterile Processing
- One year of leadership or management experience required.
- One or more of the following:
- Central Service Tech specializing in Sterile Processing credentialed from the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (IAHCSMM) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
- Central Service Tech specializing in Sterile Processing credentialed from the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
