The Doctor of Physical Therapy are specialists in the intricate relationship of the body systems and structures that control how we move. Physical therapy (PT) is hands-on, collaborative care between a patient and a practitioner that aims to ease pain and help a person function, move, and live better. It can both prevent and heal chronic or acute injury. The St. Vincent, PT clinic offers traditional therapies along with new innovations for healing, pain management, injury prevention, physical conditioning, and fitness.

Services include:

Inpatient and outpatient care, Sports medicine & rehabilitation, Concussion management, pre-and post-surgical treatment, Pelvic floor rehabilitation, Dry needling, Balance training, Vertigo & dizziness, Weightlifting technique, Cardiac rehabilitation, Running analysis, Conditioning classes, and Wound Care.

Evaluates, plans, and implements specific treatment programs for individual patients according to the principles and practices of physical therapy. Functions as an interdisciplinary team member providing patient assessment/re-assessment, direct patient care, and individualized care planning/implementation.

In cases where Manager is highest level at facility, responsible for the oversight and management of the Rehabilitation Department, consisting of PT, OT and/or Speech. Assesses, plans, and implements processes relating to patient evaluation and treatment, as required. Works with neonatal through geriatric patients with clinical competency. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Develops and manages the operating and capital budgets; directs daily operations and performance of staff; has ability to hire, fire and discipline.

Education

Graduate Master�s degree in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or Speech and Language Pathology or bachelor�s degree required in related field. Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy or master�s degree preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Required

Current license in State of Massachusetts.
