Responsible for the overall management of the delivery of Child Life Services throughout the organization. Responsible for planning the continued development of the department, leading, organizing and evaluating the delivery of Child Life Services to best meet the psychosocial, emotional, and developmental needs of pediatric patients and their families. Cooperatively manages the financial status, daily operational issues, staff needs, and wellbeing of the Child Life team while assuring that the department functions within the policies and procedures of the system.
Responsible for the operational accountability of the Child Life Department.
Provides supervision, work direction and counseling to child life staff.
Applies knowledge of Child Life professional standards and principles to guide staff in their performance.
Responsible for establishing and maintaining performance measures including patient satisfaction, employee satisfaction, access to services, clinical quality, efficiency, fiscal responsibility and service excellence for Child Life Services.
Oversees Child Life Department coordination of all JWCH special events, supervision of Child Life Volunteers and acceptance of donations.
Designs, revises, reviews and reports results of vital statistics of each child life employee to assure optimal child life coverage is provided to patients and families.
Administers the coordination of programs to each child life employee and evenly distribute projects.
Able to assess child and family strengths, developmental status, social interactions, coping style and psychosocial needs.
Plans and implements program to support the psychosocial needs of the pediatric patients and families where Child Life staff provides services throughout the system.
Responsible for employee performance improvement planning, position requests and compensation issues and recruitment, hiring, orienting and supervision of Child Life.
