The role you’ll contribute: Administrative Certified Medical Assistant
The Administrative Medical Assistant is responsible for greeting patients, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, reviewing new patient registration and entering patient information into the practice’s designated system. Additionally, provides appropriate care to patients within the scope of the Medical Practice Act. This individual obtains clinical, financial and demographic patient data and assists in patient education. Also responsible for assisting providers during the treatment and examination of patients and administers procedures and treatments as ordered by the provider.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
- Utilizes critical thinking and prioritization skills to receive, process and distribute correspondence including, but not limited to faxes, incoming mail, voices messages and email in a prompt and efficient manner according to FHHMC HP guidelines.
- Answers questions for patients and family members and routes all other calls correctly. Appropriately connects and disconnects answering service, providing needed information to the service.
- Assists with rooming patients for appointments, obtains accurate temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, height and weight, and documents accurately in the practice’s designated system. Ensures consents for treatment are executed according to FHHMC HP guidelines.
- Prepares patient for physical examination. Screens patients for appropriate information. Instructs patients in collection of samples and tests.
- Explains procedures, treatments and medication to patients and when necessary to significant others prior to implementation.
QualificationsThe expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
Minimum qualifications:
- Display a caring and professional attitude at all time as well as maintaining personal and professional growth.
- Maintain the confidentiality of employees' and patients' administrative and medical information, with no infractions.
- Requires the ability to verbally communicate clearly and effectively with patients and co-workers.
- Demonstrates responsibility/knowledge about commonly used medication.
- Utilizing Electronic Health Record
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant program
- BLS (condition of employment)
- Certified Medical Assistant /Registered Medical Assistant
Preferred qualifications:
- One (1) year medical office experience
