In compliance with applicable New York and New Jersey State regulatory authorities, COVID-19 vaccination (2 doses of either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or one dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine) is mandatory for all MSK employees, contingent workers, and volunteers. Exceptions are permitted for those employees who request and receive an approved medical or fully remote exemption.

*Staff working at a MSK New Jersey location must be up to date with COVID-19 vaccination, which includes having completed the primary COVID-19 vaccination series and booster once eligible as mandated by New Jersey State. All New Jersey staff not yet eligible for a booster must receive a booster within 3 weeks of becoming eligible as a condition of continued employment at MSK.

Note: Individuals are eligible to receive a COVID-19 booster five months after receiving the second dose of either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or two months after the J&J vaccine.

Job Description

DIRECTOR, CENTER FOR CELL AND GENE THERAPY

The primary focus of the Director, Center for Cell and Gene Therapy will be to develop a coordinated institutional effort across clinical services, clinical labs and production facilities involved in transplantation and cell/gene therapy. At Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) there are currently over 700 bone marrow transplants (BMT), 5 autologous gene-transduced BMTs, and over 100 immune effector cell (IEC) infusions performed annually with significant expected growth over the next five years in both hematological malignancies and solid tumor. The mission of the Center for Cell and Gene Therapy will be to provide a unifying structure across the diverse activities supporting cell-based therapies at MSKCC in order to accelerate new developments and/or products into clinical trials. Additionally, the Center aims to better understand the immune environment resulting in the best outcomes for advanced cell/gene therapies. The Director will report to the Physician-in-Chief.

The Director will have the independence to shape the strategic and programmatic priorities of the Center, ensure clinical and operational excellence, including the rapid development of capacity for clinically relevant discovery through investigator-initiated trials, and the recruitment, professional development and retention of trainees and faculty within the Center.

The successful candidate will be an internationally recognized clinician-scientist with strong academic credentials and experience with the clinical care of hematologic malignancies and solid tumor patients with immune effector cells. Candidate Profile- Ideal Experience

At a minimum, qualified candidates should be/should have:

* Internationally recognized clinician as well as a leader in clinical, translational, laboratory based or population science.

* Extensive administrative experience

* Extensive knowledge of the clinical care of patients with Immune Effector Cells, with experience in both Hematologic Malignancy and Solid Tumor care.

* Board-eligible or board-certified in (Pediatric) Medical Oncology and/or Hematology

* Eligible for licensure in New York State and New Jersey
