JOB SUMMARY
The Director, Business Development will provide leadership, direction, and be accountable for business development/sales, system growth, payor strategic development, and network development strategies for the VBC Platform, SWHP, and BSWH. This individual will support the VP, Business Development and share responsibility for the development and execution of comprehensive strategy, business development/sales operations, network management, and payor synergies. The Value Based Care Platform will help advance each of our System-and Health Plan strategies that will have lasting impact on the ability to deliver on our Ambition: To be the trusted leader, educator and innovator in value-based care delivery, customer experience and affordability.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Direct planning, support, execution, and ongoing supervision of business development strategies.
- Provide direction for day-to-day operations of business development/sales, and growth
- Support organizational infrastructure around plans and objectives regarding growth and expansion.
- Drive new business development activities and opportunities for revenue across multiple channels.
- Works closely with product teams and other BSWH stakeholders to develop and deliver services to our partners.
- Directly supports the business development activities of the VBC, HP, and BSWH in growing our affiliated practices including client prospecting, due diligence, contracting, integration, and on-going operations.
- In coordination with BSWH finance leadership, ensures the successful financial performance of all VBC Platform operations, and payer and employer arrangements.
- Supports alignment between BSWH Finance, BSWH Managed Care, and VBC Platform in efforts that supporting the growth and performance of BSWH
- Participates in the development of strategic planning for existing and expanding business.
- Directs the preparation of all necessary financial analyses to project financial impact of payer/employer contract negotiations/modifications.

- Participate in the financial negotiations of payer/employer contracts.
- Makes recommendations to parties as needed regarding projected amounts to be shared/retained.
- Oversees the development of direct to employer financial reporting package to ensure groups are fully aware of financial performance.
- Support VBC financial/actuarial analysis of new contracts and business opportunities in order to enhance contract financial performance.
PREFERRED CANDIDATE PROFILE
- Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
- MBA and/or CPA preferred.
- MAAA/FSA designations preferred.
- At least five years of experience in either managed care (HMO/PPO) or ACO organizations, or possibly other provider or health insurance organizations.
- At least five years of professional staff management experience.
- Experience within a provider governed HMO/PPO/ACO strongly preferred.
- Experience with the development of hospital and physician compensation programs preferred.
- Experience as a leader in a matrixed organization preferred.
- Well versed in the use of contemporary software applications.
- Possesses solid communication, technology, analytical, management, and teamwork skills.
- Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively operate in the complex environment of an integrated health system.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in an expedient and decisive manner.
- Appreciation of cultural diversity and sensitivity towards target population.
