Manage, coordinate and participate in a variety of administrativeand/or clinicalactivities related to a specific program or hospitalunit within Nursing Services; prepare and manage budgets, su pervisestaff and develop policies and procedures consistent with program objectives
Administer and coordinate o perational activities of assignedprogram or hospital unit within Nursing Services; make decisions onspecific operating problems and issue instru ctions in accordance withdepartmental policies and procedures.Plan, deve lop andimplement goals and objectives of assigned program or unit inconj unction with appropriate division director and/or department head;evalua te program objectives on a continualbasis; implement changes toexisting policies and procedures as appropriate.Determinefiscal requirements and prepare budgetary recommendations; monitorcosts and expenditures of pro gram activities and authorize expendituresof program funds.Participatein establishingandmaintainingcommunication between ancillary department an dphysicians, nursing personnel and other health care professionalsregard ing programand/or unit policies and procedures.Planandconduct meetings w ith subordinates to ensure compliancewith establishedpractices and keep employees abreast ofcurrentstandards; develop,in conjunction with others ,appropriatetraining and employee orientation programs.Assist in thesele ction, provision and control of material resources required forsubsequen t performance of duties to include equipment, supplies, spaceand facilit ies; establish standards to ensure cost containment and tooptimize worki ng environment.Administervariouspersonnelactions including,but notlimite dto, hiring,performanceappraisals,disciplinary actions and other related activities.Compileand maintain records,reports and documentationofprogr am and/orunit activities to be used for program evaluation.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
3 years of nursing experience
Degrees, Licensures, Certifications
Current or compact RN licensure in the state of North Carolina required. BLS required.
