Lloyd Jones is a national real estate investment firm focused on senior housing. To implement a new strategy of autonomous regional divisions, the firm is looking for Chief Operating Officers for the Midwest and Southwest regions. The current Lloyd Jones portfolio includes all acuity levels from 55+ – except skilled nursing.

POSITION SUMMARY

In partnership with a regional CIO, the COO will have bottom-line responsibility for the regional profitability – and enjoy proportionate compensation.  The CIO will be charged with acquisitions and underwriting for each investment.  The COO will be responsible with operating the new acquisitions pursuant to an agreed upon business plan. Together they make decisions.

This is an executive position, charged with all operational decisions under the auspices of the corporate vision and culture. You will report solely to the chairman of Lloyd Jones.

You will be expected to travel throughout your region on a frequent basis to inspect potential acquisitions as well as your operating properties. Corporate meetings will also be held on a monthly basis or as necessary.

This is your opportunity to “run your own business” with the support and collaboration of the other executive regional officers. In addition, the Lloyd Jones corporate team including accounting, HR, and insurance, etc. will add support as requested.

But you choose your own team.

You, together with the CIO, run the business. Your region’s profitability is your responsibility.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES  
It would be impossible to list all the tasks, as this is an all-encompassing leadership position with bottom-line responsibility.  

• Attract and retain top talent for all levels of operations.
• Support, mentor,  and direct your executive directors and other leaders.
• Approve and monitor community financials, budgets, capital improvements, etc.
• Actively contribute to the due-diligence and take-over processes.
• Develop goals and expectations required for a first -class operation.
• Actively partner with CIO on all acquisitions.
• Identify and implement industry best practices in collaboration with the other regional COOs.
• Stay abreast of (and adhere to) state, local, and federal legislation regarding the senior housing industry.
• Actively participate in industry panels and conferences to promote the brand and company.
• Follow and analyze economic, business, and financial trends in the marketplace and respond as needed.
• Interact and consult with the other regional leaders to create best practices and procedures.

TARGET PROFESSIONAL PROFILE

• Ten (10) years in the senior housing industry; five (5) years in an executive-level capacity
• Degree in management, accounting, nursing, finance, or related fields
• Access to airport or excellent highway system for frequent regional travel.
• Easy access to airport or major highway system for regional travel.
