SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Responsible for the coordination of day-to-day operations of the OB/Gyn ultrasound unit, provides direction and insight of the sonography unit to coincide with divisional goals. Interacts with different organizational levels throughout the institution to insure the unit will function effectively. Responsible for the operation of diagnostic medical equipment to perform a variety of technical sonographic procedures. These procedures require independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative in the application of non-ionizing high frequency ultrasonic waves for prenatal diagnoses, work independently and have a thorough knowledge of high risk conditions as a member of the high risk care team.
Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program required
Bachelor's Degree with 5 years ultrasound experience or 9 years ultrasound experience required ARDMS in OB/Gyn ultrasound and Nasal Bone certification required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
Ability to handle real time issues and work with management and other departments to find a resolution required
Knowledge of m-mode, pulse and color Doppler waveforms required
Knowledge of 3D/4D imaging required Strong analysis and problem solving skills required
Knowledge of sterile techniques used during invasive procedures required
Strong written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills required
Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations required
Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment required
Able to sit and walk occasionally; stand constantly
Able to lift/carry 0-10 lbs frequently; 11-50 lbs occasionally
Able to push/pull 0-20 lbs frequently; 21-75 lbs occasionally
Able to reach constantly. Able to use hand for simple/firm grasping
