In compliance with applicable State regulatory authorities, COVID-19 vaccination is mandatory for all MSK staff. Staff are considered fully vaccinated upon completion of a primary vaccination series for COVID-19 (i.e., one dose of a single dose vaccine or a final dose of a multi-dose vaccine series). Exceptions from the COVID-19 vaccine requirement are permitted for those who request and receive an approved medical or fully remote exemption. Requests for medical exemption can take up to two weeks to review. Vaccination or an approved medical exemption is required to start work.
*Staff working at a MSK New Jersey location must be up to date with COVID-19 vaccination, which includes having completed the primary COVID-19 vaccination series and booster once eligible as mandated by New Jersey State. All New Jersey staff not yet eligible for a booster must receive a booster within 3 weeks of becoming eligible as a condition of continued employment at MSK.
Note: Individuals are eligible to receive a COVID-19 booster two months after completion of a primary vaccination series for COVID-19. Because vaccine-induced immunity can wane over time, MSK continues to strongly urge all staff to get a COVID-19 booster as soon as they become eligible to maintain their protective immunity for a longer period.
Sloan Kettering Institute (SKI) has an exciting opportunity for a Lead Program Manager who will work with the Chair of the Cancer Biology & Genetics Program. This position will take an active role in shaping and supporting strong research through leadership in a Research Lab at Memorial Sloan Kettering (MSK), by organizing scientific operations, staff management, regulatory compliance, and grant coordination!
This role will be responsible for helping coordinate and facilitate experimental and analytical work, as well as ensuring seamless operation of the lab through close partnership with the Investigator and Lab Manager. The position sits at the unique juncture of laboratory administration, management and benchwork, with the opportunity to play a key leadership role in helping to oversee the entire lab organization and research activities. We are looking for someone who not only has a passion for science, but an understanding of the importance of lab administration, a capacity leadership, and a deep interest in helping the lab function at its highest level.
This successful candidate will serve a high-ranking scientific role within the lab and will be responsible for many of the day-to-day operations.
The Lead Program Manager will!
Work closely with the Chair of the Cancer Biology & Genetics Program as well as the trainees in his Research Lab
Take responsibility for organization of laboratory data/resources
Provide support with grant preparation and editing, guiding timely submission of proposals, and ensure timely and accurate follow-up, so as to maximize external research funding
Work with the Chair on projects that build or enhance the level of research in the lab
The position requires a PhD-level scientist with broad scientific knowledge in the Life Sciences and strong written and verbal skills.
Background/skills in cancer research biology preferred
Strong communication skills and motivation to invest in the academic and scientific success of others
Knowledge of MS Office Suite, Outlook, Slack, Acrobat Photoshop and Illustrator desirable
