The role you’ll contribute:
The Senior Nurse Manager – System Surgical Services Endoscopy and Sterile Processing is a registered professional nurse who is responsible for facilitating the development and deployment of orientation programs and clinical education for Sterile Processing and Endoscopy as well as quality improvement and regulatory standard oversight. Participates in the development of formal and informal education programs and activities to communicate policy revision and organizational goals and improve standards and performance expectations. The Senior Nurse Manager is able to demonstrate critical thinking skills, creativity, and has the knowledge to manage resources to achieve quality performance, positive employee relations, and compliance with hospital guidelines. The Senior Nurse Manager is skilled in coaching, motivating, mentoring, and leading a professional and technical team in the delivery of educational support for all levels and roles of Surgical Services personnel. The Senior Nurse Manager actively participates in outstanding customer service, including service to patients, families, physicians, and other contacts, and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

Utilizes principles of education and adult learning to provide opportunities and experiences for professional growth consistent with the Novice to Expert continuum. Utilizes the process of systematic inquiry to develop educational activities. Integrates published research and current literature to develop and implement learning activities.
Serves as a liaison to all campuses for educational consultation, orientation of new campus educators and conducts campus rounds to oversee system and unit education. Assists campus educators with education initiatives as needed, including delegation of assigning education assistance duties to system educators. Establishes and maintains a communication plan that disseminates key messages and decisions to all involved in the care of a patient.
Responsible for orientation and onboarding of all levels and specialties of staff within Sterile Processing and Endoscopy. Individualizes, plans, implements and evaluates orientation programs in response to healthcare trends, staff learning needs and organizational goals. Responsible for orientation and onboarding of mid-level/informal leaders, including coordinators, charge nurse, assistant nurse manager, educator, preceptor and mentor.
Is accessible to Sterile Processing and Endoscopy educators and managers in a manner that allows for effective and efficient operational involvement.
·Collaborates to implement change. Champions performance improvement activities in Surgical Services through problem identification, assessment, data gathering, change implementation, and evaluation of outcomes.
·Assists with coordination of sentinel event monitoring and reporting, root cause analysis, DNV (regulatory agency) requirements, incident reporting, medication safety policies and procedures. Ensures that practice changes, as a result of performance improvement activities, are implemented. Audits practice as needed.
Supports academic relationships through partnering with system clinical education to facilitate student placement. Meets with program leaders to ensure needs of students are being met. Mentors and develops preceptors for students.
*Terms: 24 month Employment Contract Required for Sign-On and Relocation
Must live 50 miles outside of campus address.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS PREFERRED:
· Specific knowledge and skills related to Endoscopy and Sterile Processing
· Knowledge or previous experience with a computerized instrument tracking system.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
· Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN)
· Minimum five years Perioperative nursing practice experience
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
· Master of Science degree in Nursing (MSN) at time of hire/promotion highly preferred
· Prior education/leadership experience
· Prior project management experience
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
· Current valid State of Florida or multi state license as a Registered Nurse
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION PREFERRED:
· Central Service Tech certification from Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) or the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD)
· GI/ Endoscopy Nursing Certification from the Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates (SGNA)
