The VUMC Diagnostic Laboratories Administration, Office of Project Management team is seeking to hire a Lead Project Manager, whom will have responsibility to support the development and execution of multiple high profile project plans that are in alignment with the vision and strategy of the lab transformation effort. The Lead Project Manager collaborates with cross-functional groups to define business, technology, and process needs, drives decision-making, gathers, and analyzes data to inform solution design, and dive forward progress. This role is fast-paced and requires the ability to think strategically and also manage the details. Many of the projects will be related to the implementation of laboratory automation and require cross-functional engagement across various clinical and business areas.

Oversees program plans, goals, and objectives in collaboration with program and area leadership.
Provides professional and/or technical leadership in the execution of day-to-day project activities.
Communicates within and across department to maximize information sharing around progress, needs, interdependencies and accomplishments.
Assures successful implementation of people, process and systems changes to support the initiative(s).
Participates in institutional task forces and other special committees related to the achievement of goals and objective.
Manages and maintains the project plans, gathering information from a variety of stakeholder groups and updating the plans accordingly (adding new tasks and managing start and finish dates, statuses, etc.)
Drives decision making.
Communicates critical dates and follows-up with stakeholders in a timely manner to ensure completion.
Provides training and guidance for individuals supporting the program.
Monitors risks and develops mitigation plans; escalating as needed.
Develops agendas, schedules, and facilitates stakeholder meetings, documents discussion areas, distributes meeting minutes, defines, and drives execution of next steps.
Acts as a utility player.
Tracks progress against project plan; drives transparency across various groups.
