Chief Financial Officer WittKieffer is honored to collaborate with Bay Cove Human Services in Boston, MA to recruit a Chief Financial Officer. Established in 1974, Bay Cove is a private, not-for-profit corporation that provides a wide variety of services to individuals and their families who face the life-long challenges of developmental disabilities, aging, mental illness, and drug and alcohol addiction. With the upcoming retirement of Kerry Ollen, who has served as Bay Cove's CFO for over 14 years, this new CFO will have the opportunity to ensure sustainability and growth by examining and making sound financial recommendations about the delivery of programs and services desperately needed by the population served.
With a budget of approximately $200M, Bay Cove employs over 2,000 highly trained employees, serving more than 20,000 individuals and their families each year at more than 160 different program sites throughout Greater Boston and southeastern Massachusetts. The Boston Globe has recognized Bay Cove as one of the Top 100 Places to Work, which is reflected in the mission-driven and committed staff. This new CFO will have the opportunity to develop and refine Bay Cove's objectives in the context of the existing strategic plan and to ensure program goals and financial sustainability are aligned. Bay Cove is seeking a mature and proactive CFO, someone who can guide and lead, balancing meeting the needs of the communities while ensuring that the financial model is consistent with public and private funding/reimbursements.
Ideally, this executive will have at least 15 years of financial management experience, a minimum of 10 years in a senior management position, serving as the top financial executive for an organization noted for its financial discipline, positive reputation and standing within its industry sector. Given the complexity of the organization's programs and initiatives, there is a strong preference for a proven CFO. Evidence of having managed complex teams and budgets and worked successfully as a true business partner in a multi-divisional or multi-site organization of at least a similar complexity and scope to Bay Cove will be important. Experience within a nonprofit organization or a social service environment is needed, understanding how to operate in an environment with limited budgets and resources.
