The Senior Medical Director will be responsible for building and maintaining the clinical knowledge databases and clinical methodologies that support the analytics of our Value Based Care and our clinically integrated networks, quality measurements (including evidence based medicine, patient safety, adverse events reporting, over use among others), population management, and financial measurement.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversee management of metric library to ensure metrics are maintained to current definitions
Create new metrics as needed for customers and expands library to include metrics aligned with national initiatives like choose wisely.
Create hierarchies of electronically generated events that determine level of reporting
Create clinical concepts inside a clinical knowledge database that support
a. Quality metrics
b. Cost metrics
c. Disease stratification
d. Risk stratification
Serve as subject matter expert on
b. Type of service hierarchies
c. Creating and maintaining clinical concepts
Implementing clinical methodologies in support of
a. Cost metrics including drilling down into root cause of outlier costs
b. Quality metrics
c. Risk models
d. Quality metric platforms
If direct report positions are listed below, the following responsibilities will be performed in accordance with guidelines, policies and procedures and applicable laws. Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
This position reports to the Senior Director, Development and requires minimal degree of supervision. The Medical Director will need to work independently to build the clinical knowledge databases and methodologies necessary to fulfill the mission as set forth by the Senior Director, Development.

This is a highly skilled job, and requires the employee to work with detail codes inside large numbers of tables in databases with detailed level clinical knowledge, and work with detailed methodology documents.
The candidate must have analytical skills and knowledge of development in order to provide accurate and detailed specifications.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Include minimum education, technical training, and/or experience preferred to perform the job.
Medical degree (M.D.) (with license in at least one state) with practice experience
Medical Informatics Experience or Medical Informatics Degree or Similar Degree (Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or Physics)
Successful candidate must be detail oriented
Experience creating applications with Administrative Claims Data as input.
Experience with Non-Administrative Clinical Data
2 years working in healthcare analytics.
Experience working on a multiple disciplinary team.
Include minimum certification required to perform the job.]
Physician must have a free and clear license in at least one state
