The Imaging Services Manager is responsible for coordination of daily operations, staff scheduling, patient scheduling, inventory control, equipment and workflow management within the Imaging Services Department, as well as oversight of the radiology student intern programs. Has the experience and qualifications to step into a clinical patient care role when needed. In conjunction with the Director and Radiologists, the Imaging Services Manager identifies, establishes, and is responsible for gathering and reporting on quality measures that ensure compliance with Title 22, Title 17, Joint Commission, American College of Radiology, Radiation Safety, other regulatory agencies, and internally established process improvement or quality initiatives. Have a good understanding of department budgets and economics related to healthcare management. In collaboration with the Director and the Radiology Committee, the Imaging Services Manager will develop, educate staff on, and enforce departmental policies and procedures. She/he will be a liaison with the IT Department, PACS Administrator for any PACS or information systems matters, and will interface with other internal and external customers to ensure service excellence and optimal delivery of care. Possess the ability to appropriately communicate (close the loop) with the medical staff in a timely manner to build a trusting relationship with the physicians. Assumes the role of Director when Director is absent from facility when directed to do so and will have supervisory responsibilities related to staff selection, terminations, performance evaluations, quality improvement and progressive discipline. Provide back-up to the PACS Administrator as needed.
Qualifications - External
EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE:
Graduate of school with an AA/AS in Radiology, or equivalent. At least 5 years experience as a registered technologist in an acute care setting with experience in 2 or more modalities. Computer literacy required.
LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:
Current CRT, ARRT, CPR, Fluoroscopy, and Venipuncture certification.
SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:
Communication is an essential skill requiring the ability to see, hear, and speak. Fluent in written and spoken English. Must have computer skills on desktop and laptop and be able to assimilate new programs. Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position.
