The role you’ll contribute:
The Executive Director of Nursing is a registered professional nurse with comprehensive responsibility for the assessment, problem identification, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and coordination of all processes which impact the quality and quantity of care delivered to the patients at their assigned facility. This role is responsible for employing strategies to foster health promotion, health teaching, and the provision of educational services and resources. The Executive Director provides consultation to influence identified plans, enhance the abilities of others, and affects change in the organization. The Executive Director of Nursing assures the integration of ethical provisions in all areas of practice, integrates research findings into practice, and considers factors related to safety, effectiveness, cost, and impact of resources utilized in the planning and delivery of nursing and other services. Provides leadership in the professional practice setting and the profession; and acts as an advocate for the protections and rights of individuals, families, communities, populations, healthcare providers, nursing, and other professions; and institutions and organizations, especially related to health and safety. Under the guidance of the Executive Director of Nursing, evaluation of outcomes is completed in order to assure the quality of practice delivered by the facility is directed at improving care delivery and population outcomes.

Develops and implements communication plans to drive system/departmental goals and initiatives.
Guarantees Affordable, Connected, Exceptional (ACE) care by supporting and making improvements when necessary
Participates in nursing and organizational policy formulation and decision-making utilizing clinical expertise as a guideline. Assures organizational clinical policies and procedures are reviewed and updated in accordance with evidence based practice.
Maintains current knowledge of patient care delivery systems and innovations; is able to articulate various delivery systems and patient care models and the advantages/disadvantages of each. Determines when new delivery models are appropriate, envisions them, and implements as needed. Maintain knowledge of current nursing practice and the roles and functions of patient care team members.
Accountable for assuring compliance and provides evidence of performance with DNV and other regulatory requirements to operate nursing licensed beds. Operationalizes and assures compliance with Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Center for Disease and Prevention (CDC) and Patient Safety regulations at the service line level. Adheres to applicable practice standards that relate to their area of specialty.
Develops and implements initiatives, processes, and create goals that align with the campus strategies while still supporting AdventHealth System initiatives. Monitors relevant outcomes and provides suggestion for process change to ensure that the departments are providing services at a level that is appropriate for all stakeholders.
Develops and coordinates services that support the care physicians provide to patients
Acts as a change agent, utilizing change theory to plan for the implementation of organizational change, supports staff during the change, and adapts leadership style to the situations of the change. Chairs committees at the campus or system level and encourages staff involvement in hospital based committees. Active participant or leader of clinical committees that affect patient care, outcomes and performance improvement.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN)
Current registration with the State of Florida Board of Nursing as a registered professional nurse.
Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in Nursing.
Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in leadership roles in a comparable health care entity.
Preferred qualifications:
Master’s degree in Nursing, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or related field.
Management training
Nurse Executive Certification
