JOB SUMMARY
As a Director of Product Management on our product management team, you will lead the development of products that solve business and user problems by collaborating with others.
Define and manage product requirements for developers that provide the best solution for business needs and market requirements.
Serve as agile/scrum product owner. Provide guidance to direct reports and developers, resolve impediments. Prioritize the needs of the business and users, then find the most efficient solution for developers
Build a strong partnership with developers and quality assurance. Collaborate to find efficient ways to satisfy business and user needs.
Drive progress. Monitor team to make sure that shifting priorities are conveyed to stakeholders and that there's a conscious decision between temporarily deprioritized versus permanently forgotten.
Compose technical information into clear, concise product documentation for technical and non-technical audiences.
Help team determine when a client's needs warrant a configuration option, such as when the needs are likely true for other clients.
Lead, coach and mentor. May also hire, conduct performance reviews, make salary and promotion recommendations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Work closely with market-facing product management staff to understand the needs of each market segment across all products and initiatives. Critically evaluate information gained from multiple sources; reconcile conflicting inputs, through configurations where appropriate.
Champion the product vision, strategy and roadmap to internal peers.
Share product enhancement ideas and their relative priority with market-facing product management staff.
Define and manage product requirements for developers that provide the best solution for business needs and market requirements conveyed by market-facing product management staff.
Documentation includes user stories, use cases, acceptance criteria, business rules, data and process flows, functional and technical specifications, data/analytics/reporting and integration plans when warranted.
Help team determine when a client's needs warrant a configuration option, such as when the needs are likely true for other clients.
Use knowledge and experience to identify interdependencies as well as opportunities to leverage existing functionality for newly defined needs. Champion platform-wide solutions. Guide team.
Build a strong partnership with developers and quality assurance at all levels.
Collaborate to find efficient ways to satisfy business and user needs. Improve collaboration between product management, product development and user experience.
Serve as agile/scrum product owner. Provide guidance to direct reports and developers, resolve impediments. When making decisions, prioritize the needs of the business and users, then find the most efficient solution for developers

Anticipate, identify and resolve complex issues; Help the organization keep a balanced perspective of risk and reward, and mitigate risk as appropriate
Facilitate process revisions or improvements with Implementation team if warranted.
Ensure Product Support team is prepared.
Compose technical information into clear, concise product documentation for technical and non-technical audiences.
Train others internally on products and recent development.
Approve deliverables that are visible to or affect clients
Participate in retrospectives to assess what is working well and lessons learned; take the lead on facilitating cross-product team improvements.
Hire, lead, coach, mentor, conduct performance reviews, make salary and promotion recommendations, discipline as necessary.
Lead large cross-enterprise teams; promote collaboration and teamwork.
Designs new tools, processes and systems to improve product management capabilities.
FREQUENT INTERACTIONS
You will frequently interact with product management team members and Dev/QA. You will also interact with executive leadership.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Passion for and extensive expertise in product management
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Include minimum education, technical training, and/or experience preferred to perform the job.
MBA and minimum 8 years of software product management or business analysis experience
Or degree in Computer Science or a related major and minimum of 10 years of product management or business analysis experience
Prefer experience in healthcare, such as clinical quality and/or financial products
Prefer experience in agile, scrum or kanban
