The role you’ll contribute:
The Clinical Pharmacy Manager shall support the mission of the department, hospital, and health-system by preventing, identifying and resolving drug related problems to assure patient safety, improve patient satisfaction, optimize patient outcome and minimize cost. They will perform all functions of a registered pharmacist including accurate and timely dispensing, clinical interaction with the healthcare team, patient teaching, pharmacist and technician supervision.

Pharmacy Practice and Clinical Management
Manages and oversees pharmacy practice programs, directs patient care services, and medication systems to provide reliable, comprehensive, and individualized drug therapy that is aligned with patient needs, evidence-based best practices, regulatory standards, and budgetary targets.
Effectively collaborates with other hospital departments and strategic business unit leaders to promote cooperation and efficiency in providing patient's pharmacy care needs.
Provides departmental and institutional leadership for medical staff committees/meetings, hospital groups/task forces, and approved external programs/organizations.
Serves as departmental resource and liaison to physicians, pharmacists, nurses, and other hospital personnel and works closely with these individuals to establish quality infrastructures utilized within the department and throughout the medical center.
Assists with preparation of an annual budget and manages assigned budgets and financial resources including stewardship, cost control, and restriction/surveillance programs.
Schedule and Labor Management
Develops standards of performance to maximize staff roles in accordance with licensure.
Manages, monitors, and evaluates staff performance in assigned pharmacy areas to ensure accuracy and quality of services, completion of all tasks, and mitigation and correction of deficiencies.
Provides feedback and counseling regarding job performance including employee discipline if needed and completes performance appraisals for assigned employees.
Manages schedules and staff requests for PDO (vacations and holidays) and adjusts coverage for sick calls or staff shortages.
Monitors and reports usage of staff overtime, time and attendance deviations, and staff sick calls.
Leads recruitment, interview, and hiring processes for staff in assigned areas.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Bachelor of Pharmacy, Doctor of Pharmacy, or other advanced pharmacy degree
PGY1 & PGY 2 Pharmacy Residency in specialty area consistent with practice needs of institution plus contemporary hospital or specialty experience (3 years), with portfolio documenting sustained contribution to practice OR
PGY1 Residency AND
specialty practice experience (4 years) consistent with practice needs of institution, with portfolio documenting sustained contribution to practice required OR
Clinical pharmacy experience in specialty practice (5 years) in a contemporary hospital setting, with portfolio documenting sustained contribution to practice
PREFERRED:
One year of Supervisory/Leadership experience
Masters in Pharmacy or Masters in Business or Health Administration
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties certification
Applicable State Pharmacy License
BLS certification
PREFERRED:
Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
