Overview
BJC Behavioral Health is a community health center that provides and coordinates behavioral health services for more than 8,000 seriously mentally ill adults and seriously emotionally disturbed children in St. Louis City, St. Louis County, St. Fran?ois, Iron and Washington counties. As an Administrative Agent of the Missouri Department of Mental Health (DMH), BJC Behavioral Health serves as a major point of entry for people eligible for mental health services funded by DMH and is responsible for serving as gatekeeper to the public mental health system.

Role Purpose
In collaboration with the Vice President of Behavioral Health and System Chief Medical Officer, the Behavioral Health Virtual Care Medical Director (BHVCMD) provides clinical and operational direction for the strategy, implementation, and operation of Behavioral Health Virtual Care Services (BHVC) across BJC. The BHVCMD will ensure high quality, patient-centered care by leading clinical and quality initiatives that support the excellent provision of virtual care performance and practice standards across all care settings. The BHVCMD will ensure BJC virtual services are fully integrated with the Electronic Medical Record. The BHVCMD will advance robust virtual care metrics reporting and analytics. This position is also responsibilities for advising on Virtual Care education (CME), physician training, and hands-on participation/leadership for program stakeholders. The BHVCMD connects with CMOs, other Medical Directors, Leadership, and Physicians, across multiple service lines/disciplines, and prospective spoke sites. While acting in the function of BHVCMD, this position does not provide direct patient care.
Responsibilities
Builds and maintains relationships with the telepsychiatry vendor and provider/clinical community; aligns the organizational strategy and behavioral health virtual care (BHVC) services with the physician community.
Participates in BHVC strategic and financial planning.
In concert with the Vice President of Behavioral Health, oversees virtual care operations to ensure services are efficient and effective in meeting BHVC goals and objectives.
Actively participates in educational growth and development.
