The Division of Cardiovascular Disease and Hypertension at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (RWJMS) seeks applicants for the position of Director of Echocardiography Laboratory in New Brunswick, New Jersey.
The Director of Echocardiography Laboratory will lead and give oversight to the cardiodynamics laboratory including echocardiography, stress testing and electrocardiography at RWJMS and RWJUH, our principal affiliate teaching hospital. The Director’s primary responsibilities are to design, execute, and oversee operations in the laboratory to ensure efficient, timely, and high-quality delivery of non-invasive cardiac stress tests and imaging services. The Director will also have a key role in clinical care, in advancing the mission of the Division and a commitment to the development of faculty, staff and fellow.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Directly supervise faculty and staff involved in the operations of the Echo Laboratory
Develop, implement, and monitor patient care pathway protocols in the Non-Invasive Cardiology Laboratory to reduce care variation and increase efficiency
Develop metrics on a monthly basis with the faculty to monitor progress and measure improvement
Ensure timely completion of imaging procedures and reports
Direct and supervise faculty interpreting studies and the activities of the Cardiology Fellows in the Echo Laboratory to ensure that Fellows and Residents receive optimal didactic and case-based education
Education/Qualification
Candidate must possess a MD degree
Achieve or eligible for appointment as Professor or Associate Professor
At least 5 years clinical experience in echocardiography.
Level III training in echocardiography
Substantial experience in advanced techniques such as strain imaging, three-dimensional echocardiography, contrast echocardiography, and image-guided interventions
Have prior leadership experience
Advanced cardiac imaging training highly desirable
Eligible for licensure in New Jersey
Certificates/Licenses
Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine
Board certified in Cardiology
National Board in Echocardiography certification
