SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Responsible for directing the strategic and tactical operations for the Clinical Documentation Improvement Program. Evaluates and implements processes for physician queries and associated resolutions to ensure complete and accurate clinical documentation to reflect severity of illness, risk of mortality, and quality documentation for appropriate and accurate DRG assignment, revenue enhancement, and optimization of quality metrics for external benchmarking. Measures the program success by instituting process improvements and CDI best practices. Educates and works with faculty and staff care team providers to assure documentation of care diagnoses are a complete reflection of the patients' clinical status and care. Responsible to work in close alliance with physician leaders, revenue cycle leadership, CMO, CMIO, CNO, CQO in the strategic and operational planning, design, implementation. This position will have some functional and staff oversight for portions of the PSH health system as it relates to CDI functions and will partner closely with the leadership in PSH Revenue Cycle as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Nursing required
7 years of experience required
5 years of management experience required
Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse by the Pennsylvania Board of Nurse Examiners required
Excellent problem solving skills and ability to exercise independent judgement
Business acumen and leadership skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Demonstrated proficiency in current and emerging technologies
Customer focused attitude and ability to work proactively and efficiently with appropriate urgency
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's degree in Nursing preferred
Quality Improvement experience preferred
Cerner and Optum experience preferred
