This position provides direction and oversight of the Emergency Department with participation in the ED Service line. The position requires a leader with vision, initiative, strategic thinking, strong relationship-building skills and a record of delivering on identified performance metrics. The Director of Emergency Department is a high visibility, high impact, leadership role. The Director will lead and orchestrate the development, supervision and evaluation of Emergency Department administrative and operational activities. The Director will enhance, implement, and oversee a strategy and process that is data driven, evidence based, team oriented, patient centered and collaborative with Medical Staff, with the objective of improving the outcomes of patient care delivery and reducing costs. As a nursing director this position is responsible for promoting Shared Governance, nursing recruitment and retention, and the clinical and professional development of Associates. The ED Director is responsible for participating in and supporting activities of the ED Service Line by promoting collaboration among nursing, administration and the medical staff for optimal program development, improved market share, and excellent patient outcomes. This position works with other members of the leadership team to attain goals in Service, Clinical Quality, Community Value, and Business Literacy. The ED Director is responsible for budgeting and monitoring all personnel, supplies, and equipment.
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required, Master's Degree preferred.
RN with a minimum of five years emergency, critical care experience. Three years Emergency/Critical Care Leadership Experience required.
Licensed by the state of Texas as a Registered Nurse
