The Rollins School of Public Health of Emory University announces a search for a dynamic leader to serve as Rollins Endowed Chair of the Department of Health Policy and Management (HPM).

The Departmental mission is to advance knowledge about access, delivery, and cost of health care in order to improve population health and promote health equity. The Department is a leader in innovative research and educational programs to train the next generation of scholars and professionals in health policy, health services research, and health care management. The Department comprises 18 primary faculty members and over 25 adjunct faculty members affiliated with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Carter Center, the World Health Organization, the World Bank, the Georgia Department of Public Health, and many other organizations. Department faculty members collaborate with researchers and students throughout the Rollins School of Public Health (departments include: Behavioral, Social, and Health Education Sciences; Biostatistics and Bioinformatics; Environmental Health; Epidemiology; Global Health) and throughout the Emory system including the School of Medicine, Woodruff School of Nursing, Winship Cancer Institute, Goizueta Business School, School of Law and Emory College of Arts and Sciences.

The Department offers courses of study leading to the Master of Public Health (MPH) and the Master of Science in Public Health (MSPH) degrees through the Rollins School of Public Health, and the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree through the Laney Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. The Department offers MPH degrees in both a Management track and a Policy track, as well as a MSPH in Health Policy Research.

*Visionary and strategic planning skills needed to advance the Department's mission ofhigh-impact science and scholarship in health policy and management.*A proven track record in promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion as they relate toresearch, education, and service.*Communication and consensus-building skills to enable a supportive academiccommunity organized around shared principles.*Demonstrated success in mentoring faculty members of all ranks, especially juniorfaculty and early-career scholars.*Experience designing and/or delivering innovative education programs and dedication toa culture of engaged learning and student success.*Ability to cultivate and manage the talent of the Department's administrative staffmembers.*Commitment to interdisciplinary scholarship and multiple methodological approaches toadvance new knowledge.*Success in building collaborations and partnerships within and across academicdepartments, as well as with external organizations (such as community-based,governmental, and health care/service provision entities).*Success in building a productive program of research and maintaining funding supportfrom extramural sponsors.

Applicants should have a doctoral degree in public health, population health sciences, policy, management, economics, medicine, or a related discipline; a prominent record of academic scholarship, service, and teaching; a demonstrated capacity to secure external research funding; dedication to faculty career development and to training the next generation of HPMstudents; and strong advocacy for community-engaged, collaborative, and methodologically rigorous research. Candidates should understand trends in the field; have a demonstrated ability to foster creativity, innovation, and collaboration; and have proven leadership and management abilities in a fast-paced environment.

The committee will accept applications from candidates with an established record that merits appointment as a tenured full professor.

*Cultivate excellence of the Department's academic programs and provide visionaryleadership in developing innovative research and educational initiatives.*Advance diversity, equity and inclusion throughout the Department community and leadby example through demonstrating principles of fairness and transparency.*Support, promote, and enhance Departmental faculty members' research success andimpact in the field.*Recruit and retain faculty who can build on existing Department strengths and strategicgoals.*Foster relationships and collaborations within the Department and with external partners(e.g., within the Rollins School of Public Health, across Emory University, with other peerdepartments/schools, and in non-academic settings).*Provide oversight of financial, organizational, and human resources of the Department.*Contribute to additional initiatives through consultation with the Dean of the RollinsSchool of Public Health.

About the Rollins School of Public Health (RSPH) and Emory University

RSPH employs over 200 faculty members and enrolls over 1,300 graduate students per year in its MPH, MSPH, and doctoral programs. RSPH is ranked 4th in "Best Public Health Schools" by US News and World Report.
