MercyOne Northeast Iowa is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Family Medicine physician to serve as Assistant Program Director and Faculty for the MercyOne Northeast Iowa Family Medicine Residency program located in Waterloo, Iowa.
We are seeking a Family Medicine Assistant Program Director for a 4-4-4 Family Medicine Residency Program based in the heart of the Cedar Valley. This is an employed position with the MercyOne Northeast Iowa Waterloo Family Medicine Residency Program. This is a great opportunity to partner with MercyOne Waterloo Medical Center to serve patients and teach residents. Our ACGME accredited program trains Family Medicine Residents over a three-year cycle. Join a team of dedicated Family Medicine Physicians who are passionate about graduate medical education and superior patient care.
Responsibilities include:
Actively teach residents in inpatient and clinical practice
Oversee the education and performance of residents in an inpatient and outpatient setting.
OB optional
Office call 1:4 with nurse triage
No hospital call.
Oversee 1-2 program wide quality improvement projects.
Provide 10-12 lectures on various topics throughout the year.
Act as advisor to approximately 5 resident physicians
Schedule - Typical half days as follows (may vary slightly for PTO, CEU, sick coverage):
4 in patient care
2-3 staffing resident clinic visits.
1 in procedure clinic
1 protected administrative time
1 administrative time
1 in conferences
Candidates with previous inpatient experience are preferred. Interested candidates must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine.

RECRUITMENT PACKAGE
A competitive compensation and benefits package is available for the right candidate which includes the following:
$260K salary guarantee x 3 years.
$40K Starting Bonus

MercyOne Northeast Iowa consists of MercyOne Waterloo Medical Center, a 366-bed, full-service, multi-specialty hospital in Waterloo, MercyOne Cedar Falls Medical Center, a 100-bed, full-service hospital in Cedar Falls and MercyOne Oelwein Medical Center, a 25-bed critical access hospital in Oelwein, MercyOne Medical Group, a comprehensive, multi-specialty provider group, and MercyOne Northeast Iowa Waterloo Family Medicine Residency Program, an ACGME accredited program in Waterloo.
