Summary:
The Director of Talent Management works and directs the planning, design, implementation and on-going administration of the Talent Management Consulting team for the organization. This position ensures a strategic approach and implementation of the employment experience in alignment with department and organizational goals. This position collaborates with HR Division areas and senior leaders throughout Akron Children's Hospital.
Responsibilities:
- Provides strategic oversight to the HR People consulting services related to strategy development of people initiatives at the department level.
- Lead and track impact of all Talent Management Consultant initiatives including, but not limited to onboarding, engagement, retention, development, goal setting, evaluations and department talent analysis.
- Research and recommend best practices that support engagement and retention goals.
- Manage, coach and develop the Talent Management Consultant team.
- Partners with VP and CHRO to review People Objectives. Participate in business review sessions and ensure HR outcomes align with department and organizational goals.
- Maintain knowledge of people related engagement, development, and retention strategies.
- Utilizes the HR Strategic Plan and People Objectives to help prioritize HR initiatives.
- Serve as a coach in efforts related to change management, engagement, team effectiveness and leadership development.
- Prepares, manages, and adheres to department budget to maintain expenditure controls.
- Adds value as a key member of management understands the business, financials, industry, customers, and strategy.
- Other duties as required.
Other information:
Technical Expertise
1. Experience as a HR leader is required.
2. Experience in applicable State and Federal employment laws is preferred.
3. Experience working in all levels within the organization is required.
4. Experience in several HR core functions such as employee relations, talent development, recruitment, total rewards, etc. is required.
5. Experience in HR Management or as a HR Business Partner is preferred.
6. Experience in healthcare is preferred.
Education and Experience
1. Education: Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or related field is required, Master's degree in same preferred.
2. Certification: HR Certification [PHR, SHRM-CP, CEBS, CCP, etc.] is preferred.
3. Years of relevant experience: 7 years is required.
4. Years of experience supervising: 5 year is required.
