Under general supervision, coordinates multiple public health projects within Denver Public Health (DPH). Leads or assists the following: design, management, evaluation, and implementation of public health program and grant deliverables. Communicates with funding agencies and key stakeholders. Communicates and collaborates with community partners, and facilitates or leads various committees and coalitions. Participates in the development of future grant applications and activities. Uses project management and quality improvement tools and methodologies to improve program activities. This position will supervise program staff as assigned.
Essential Functions:
Manages and coordinates the design and implementation of public health program and grant activities. (20%)
Manages and coaches employees; assigns duties to expedite workflow and reviews work. (10%)
Possesses an advanced understanding of health equity and social justice and is committed to integrating these principles and practices into all levels of program and grant management. (10%)
Utilizes Lean principles, project management, and quality improvement to improve public health and grant program outcomes. (10%)
Prepares necessary and required reports to management, funders, and the community. (10%)
Builds and maintains community relationships. (10%)
Develops partnerships to leverage program and grant activities and funding. (5%)
Facilitates coalition meetings and engages community partners in program planning and development of future grant applications using a collaborative leadership approach. (5%)
Develops and manages grant budgets, work plans, subcontracts, and ensures compliance. Monitors and tracks subcontractor activities and implementation. (5%)
Identifies funding opportunities and assists in grant development and writing efforts. (5%)
Develops and maintain relationships with local, state, and national funding agencies. (5%)
Adapts to changes in work environment and manage competing demands. (5%)
Education:
Bachelor's Degree Required
Work Experience:
1-3 years Experience developing, implementing, and evaluating health and wellness programs, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Required
