PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Provide strategic and planning support and direction for the assigned hospitals.
· Implement and support the strategic planning process.
· Provide concise and relevant information to senior leadership to assist in the development of the strategic plan.
· Lead the process of developing hospital-wide strategies and updating the Business Plan to create growth and sustainable competitive advantage within all five elements of excellence: Team, Service, Clinical, Market and Finance.
· Develop, recommend, and coordinate long-range plans and strategies to achieve business growth through expanding and strengthening market presence and focusing the organization on the right products and markets.
· Provide strategic support as needed to hospital CEOs.
· Support physician planning, recruiting and strategy development in harmony with the Region’s strategic goals. Ensure that physicians being recruited to the market are needed by the community and support the hospital’s strategic direction.
· Create an environment that is conducive to the development of complementary growth strategies that result in strengthening the market position for the assigned hospitals. Assist hospital leadership in understanding their entire market and the impact they have on their competitors.
· Evaluate the performance of employees ensuring that each has a development plan focused on professional growth and that each individual is positively contributing to the achievement of the overall department goals.
· This position is based in the AH Corporate Offices and requires travel to AH – Multistate facilities.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
· Bachelors Degree of Business Administration or a related field
· A minimum of 10 years business experience in such areas as hospital administration, strategic planning, business planning, market research and financial planning.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
· Master of Health Care Administration / Master of Business Administration with a health administration emphasis OR the combination of experience and relevant educational background is preferred.
