Nemours Children's Health is seeking an Orthopedic Communications and Outreach Manager for the Delaware Valley.
The Orthopedic Communications and Outreach Manager is responsible for increasing Orthopedic patient referrals to Nemours Children's Health in the Delaware Valley from regional referral resources including physicians, community care providers, hospitals, partners, and organizations by prospecting, marketing, developing new/maintaining established relationships with those institutions, physicians, and their practices.
This position is also responsible for the Department of Orthopedics' social media efforts, working in close collaboration and partnership with the Nemours Marketing team.
The main purpose of this role is to improve communication efforts that will increase patient volume by increasing awareness of our programs, as well as to enhance our reputation as a nationally renowned Orthopedic Center of Excellence.
This position will require occasional travel to healthcare practices in the Delaware, southern Pennsylvania, and New Jersey areas.
Identify and target appropriate regional, national, and international referral sources for increased referrals, admissions and transfers to Nemours Orthopedics' services and facilities.
Open, maintain, and improve communications with referring sources: Nemours and non-Nemours physicians, partners, practice managers, patient navigators, etc. Leverage communications to course correct customers' barriers with Nemours' staff and processes. Organize and open venues to share intelligence to drive customer satisfaction and problem closure with service recovery where indicated.
Use appropriate skills to identify referral sources, offer appropriate Orthopedic education and solutions, and provide effective follow-up to the referral sources. Work closely with targeted referral sources to understand which services and products will be of most benefit to them.
Develop quarterly/annual plans to promote physicians or services to referral sources to increase referrals.
Identify and build new relationship opportunities aligning with Nemours Orthopedics' strategy.
Maintain timely and accurate client/partner management records of all means of contact. All education, marketing, site visits, phone calls, teleconferencing and follow-up activity should be documented.
Collect, collate, and interpret departmental and partnership statistical data on a regular basis (weekly. monthly, quarterly, annually) for purposes of leadership review, outreach presentations, and internal and external uses.
Analyze quantitative referral data to determine the outreach strategy for the territory. Recommend strategic recalibrations.
Produce quarterly (and/or as needed) territory assessments and presentations that provide an overview of the market dynamic of referral sources, new physicians, practice mergers, strategic opportunities, and referral solutions presented.
Organize and promote educational (both CME & non-CME) programs and social events and activities as needs are identified to establish, maintain, and enhance engagement of referral base.
Partner with internal stakeholders (Physician Liaisons, Marketing, Business Development and Strategy, etc.) for network and program development.
Social Media responsibilities
In collaboration with the Nemours Marketing/PR/Social Media team members:
1. Implement social media campaigns to align with business goals.
2. Work with physicians to develop online presence, curate stories/items for social media, and educate staff.
3. Post/update content across all social media channels.
Bachelor's degree required. Degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or related field is preferred.
Three to five years of experience required.
Experience in public relations, communications, marketing, social media, or related field is preferred.
Orthopedic experience or knowledge is preferred, but not required.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are required.
Must work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Ability to build and foster professional relationships on behalf of the department and maintain and promote professionalism in all interactions/communications.
