Cary Medical Center has an exciting opportunity for a Laboratory Manager. The Lab Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of Laboratory Services, with a primary focus on quality patient care. In keeping with the standards of the College of American Pathologists, the Manager of Laboratory Services will supervise high complexity testing, including being responsible for the day-to-day supervision or oversight of the laboratory operation and personnel performing testing and reporting testing results. The Manager will also provide leadership for employees within Laboratory Services by role modeling professional standards and continuously collaborate with members of the health care team to maximize positive patient outcomes while ensuring a cohesive team approach to patient needs. The Manager may complete clinical hours in addition to designated non-clinical hours as necessary to meet the needs of patients and the department.
License/Education:
1. CPR and Basic First Aid preferred
2. Registry with ASCP, HEW, AMT, or ASMT is required.
3. A bachelor’s degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science with at least four years of experience in high complexity testing OR an Associate Degree in laboratory science or medical technology program with at least six years' experience in high complexity testing.
