Chair and Professorship positions at Eli Coleman Institute for Sexual and Gender Health
The Eli Coleman Institute for Sexual and Gender Health at the University of Minnesota Medical School invites nominations and applications for two inaugural positions, the Beatrice “Bean” Robinson Endowed Chair in Clinical Sexual Health and the Pepper Schwartz Endowed Professorship in Sexuality and Aging.
ABOUT THE ELI COLEMAN INSTITUTE FOR SEXUAL AND GENDER HEALTH The Eli Coleman Institute for Sexual and Gender Health (ISGH) is a venerated and vibrant leader in the field, conducting research, education, clinical care, and advocacy work locally, nationally, and internationally. These four focus areas are the pillars of ISGH’s work. ISGH is the largest academic sexual and gender health center in the United States and has profoundly impacted thousands of people’s lives through its clinical services. ISGH faculty have educated more medical students in human sexuality than any other medical school in the world and ISGH has trained more postdoctoral fellows in clinical care than any other institution in the field. ISGH’s educational programs extend beyond the university, including a popular community health education series, Sex Science Happy Hour, which takes place in local breweries on a bimonthly basis. ISGH continues to grow its community partnerships with local organizations as well as international professional organizations in the field. Meanwhile, we maintain a strong research program with over $1 million in grant funding annually, with research projects ranging from local to international.
ABOUT THE POSITIONS Both positions have been made possible through the generosity of over 100 donors and the extraordinary efforts of Dr. Bean Robinson, Dr. Pepper Schwartz, Dr. Eli Coleman, and the University of Minnesota Foundation. Candidates selected for these positions will serve as the inaugural holders at the Eli Coleman Institute for Sexual and Gender Health. They will be hired at a rank commensurate with experience and both are tenure-eligible positions. They will support the development and expansion of clinical outcome research that contributes to the advancement of work in their respective scholarly areas. The successful candidates’ own research will complement existing ISGH priorities and support sustained excellence and continued growth within ISGH.
