Providence St. Vincent Medical Center is seeking a compelling leader and recognized educator to serve as the Brill Chair of Medicine. This role provides broad oversight of medical education and physician leadership in the pursuit of safe, high quality and innovative clinical practice. Working closely with the Residency Program Director and the Clinic Medical Director, this individual directs all operations of the Department of Medicine at PSVMC, including a fully accredited Internal Medicine Residency and residency clinic. The successful candidates will be board-certified in Internal Medicine with demonstrated leadership experience within a teaching institution, health center and/or community hospital and the ability to foster and sustain opportunities between clinical and academic departments. This position is partly supported by an endowment honoring Dr. Isidor C. Brill, who served on the St. Vincent Medical Staff for nearly 60 years as a clinician, educator, and leader. The endowment is dedicated to the advancement of medical education. The Brill Chair is thought to be the first endowed chair for internal medicine on the West Coast and has evolved to include key roles in medical staff leadership, quality, and safety. This role reports to the Chief Medical Officer.

Board Certification in Internal Medicine
Leadership experience required within in a teaching institution, health center, and/or community hospital
Lead the Department of Medicine, providing vision, oversight, mentorship, teaching and guidance to the Residency Program leadership, faculty, residents, and students.
Provide fiscal oversight for the Department and Program, managing the operating budget and foundation/grant support.
The Brill chair is expected to be clinically active, supervising a teaching service in internal medicine comprised of residents, interns, and medical students.
Serves as a voting member of MEC, as delineated in the Professional Staff Policies and Procedures
Works collaboratively with the regional DIO and other regional and broader Providence GME leadership to expand, develop and improve GME opportunities. Advocates for the department of medical education within the larger organization and creates linkages and collaboration between medical education and the larger Providence organization.
