This Associate Director of Research Operations leads research deliverable operations for the RMPDS Research Department. Oversees the development and management of deliverable systems and departmental programs, including Researched Abuse Diversion and Addiction Related Surveillance (RADARS) System data collection programs. Leads continuous improvement efforts to streamline deliverable systems and other operational procedures. Develops and monitors budgets and resourcing plans to support operational requirements. Serves as a key leadership role in the RMPDS organization.
Essential Functions:
Lead and facilitate implementation of new services, infrastructure, applications and enhancements to improve administrative, compliance, and scientific research operations. (30%)
Leads process improvement and innovation efforts to improve system efficiency and quality. (20%)
Works with the leadership of strategic areas to establish staffing levels and configurations and proper measures of personnel performance. (15%)
Leads operational teams and drive leader and team development in alignment with performance requirements. (15%)
Leads grant systems and processes including working with the sponsored project office, oversight of grant development processes and grant administration. (10%)
Oversee the activities of the staff which includes but is not limited to sourcing, hiring, and training new team members, creating and managing schedules, evaluating performance, and providing coaching to engage and motivate team members, identifying and applying career advancement opportunities for team members, and helping to resolve employee issues and disputes. (10%)
Education:
Master's Degree in a health sciences, health administration, healthcare management, or business. Required
Work Experience:
10+ years directly related experience in research administration or a related field Required
4-6 years leadership supervisory experience Required

1-3 years working in a scientific field and regulated environment Required
1-3 years working in client-facing business Required

Licenses:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Communication skills to interact effectively with Denver Health’s current service/client base, prospective customers, and all levels of Denver Health management on a one-to-one basis, in small groups and in public speaking contexts
Lean or other process improvement framework
Experience with multidisciplinary collaboration
Ability to develop communication plans and communicate in writing and other forms
Excellent decision-making skills and ability to support decision making at all levels within projects and the organization
Strong prioritization and strategic decision making skills
