Provides strategic leadership and management of the operational, financial, and personnel activities of radiology services for all locations of the MU Health Care Responsible for performance in the areas of growth, quality, service, engagement and stewardship.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective delivery of radiology services. Oversee scheduling, workflow optimization, and resource allocation to meet patient care needs. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, safety standards, and quality assurance protocols. Develop and manage departmental budgets, including revenue forecasting, expense control, and financial reporting. Identify opportunities for revenue enhancement and cost-saving initiatives while maintaining high-quality service delivery. Monitor key performance indicators and financial metrics to assess departmental performance and identify areas for improvement. Recruit, train, and supervise radiology staff across multiple locations. Foster a culture of professional development, collaboration, and accountability. Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and implement strategies to promote employee engagement and retention. Collaborate with hospital leadership to develop long-term strategic plans for radiologic services aligned with organizational goals and priorities.
Identify emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in radiology and integrate them into departmental strategies. Lead initiatives to enhance service quality, patient satisfaction, and operational efficiency. Implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes, safety, and satisfaction. Monitor and analyze clinical outcomes, patient feedback, and performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement. Drive continuous quality improvement efforts through data-driven decision-making and process optimization. Oversee the development, coordination, and maintenance of daily staffing schedules to ensure the appropriate level of coverage and continuity of care across units. Direct the implementation and oversight of MU Health Care time and attendance policies and practices. May complete unit/department specific duties as outlined in department documents.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Demonstrated expertise in operational management, financial analysis, and strategic planning. Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and industry best practices in radiology.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree. Master's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or a related area, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities can be acquired. Seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in radiology services, preferably in an academic healthcare setting.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Certified Radiologic Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.
