The role you’ll contribute:
The Sr Manager of Clinical Services is responsible for developing, monitoring, and supporting the mail order and specialty pharmacy clinical services and the internal PA team servicing the AdventHealth self-insured plan to ensure optimal results. Additionally, manages the integration of clinical programs and compliance with contractual and regulatory obligations. Under the direction of their leader, the Sr. Manager manages their team to ensure the team collaborates with technical and functional project teams, operation teams and other corporate departments as needed for success. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

- Responsible for clinical services leadership, working closely with department leaders to achieve stated goals and accountabilities including productivity and quality improvement initiatives.
- Establish reporting and approval procedures: delegate authority to managers for them to guide the work of others. Provide authorization of supervision, orientation, training, job objectives, performance standards and appraisal, personal development, safety, communication, discipline, grievances and other personnel actions.
- Oversee daily goals and specific duty assignments for department managers and monitor prescription workflow queues for appropriate and timely follow through.
- Appropriately recognize organizational lines within departments; keep managers informed of matters affecting their work and interests; interpret and explain policies and procedures, department and pharmacy objectives, operations, services, organization, budget and seek comments and suggestions from managers and employees.
- Work collaboratively with the Senior Manager of Operations to guarantee alignment of HR processes for Rx Plus and Expedien Rx Pharmacies.
- Assists with the development and execution of pharmacy programs in collaboration with the director of Clinical Services to meet pharmacy department’s clinical, operational and financial goals. Develops processes to achieve operational excellence in all areas of pharmacy.
- Assists with establishing the strategic vision, objectives, policies and procedures for the pharmacy programs; and resolve disputes, grievances and complaints involving pharmacy program issues
- Participates in business development and planning of future program growth; responsible for operational implementation of new programs as assigned
- Assist with developing and maintaining the AdventhHealth self-insured pharmacy benefits plan to ensure the best outcomes for the plan and member
- In the absence of the Director of Clinical Services, delegates responsibilities and performs in such a manner to ensure program continuity and overall functionality of the pharmacy department.
- Reviews and makes recommendations for Policies and Procedure revisions as necessary to ensure pharmacy department optimal pharmaceutical services that meet all regulatory, accreditation, and certification requirements.
- Ensures pharmacy operations complies with all local, state, and federal laws
- Ensures that required licensure and certifications for pharmacy staff and pharmacies are maintained according to regulatory requirements.
- Ensure that payor contracts are maintained.
- Complete required continuing education to maintain current licensure as required by the state board of pharmacy in your practice state.
- Actively contributes to departmental planning processes and achievement of annual departmental objectives by coordinating assigned objectives and assisting in the accomplishment of others.
- Recognize development needs and capability gaps in the specialty pharmacy operational processes and address needs, and assist in definition of strategic plans for new and existing pharmacy programs
- Provide vision and strategic direction for Rx Plus Pharmacy and the specialty program to ensure that all staff is aligned with the departments and organization’s mission and vision
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an American Council of pharmacy Education accredited College of Pharmacy or foreign pharmacy graduate FPGEC certified by the NABP
- 3+ years of pharmacy management experience
- 5+ years of experience as a pharmacist in a retail or outpatient pharmacy
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
- Master of Health Administration, Master of Science in Pharmacy or Pharmacy Administration, Master of Business Administration, or other advanced degree in pharmacy or healthcare leadership
- Prior leadership experience in specialty or retail pharmacy operations with multi-site responsibility
- Prior experience with operating a self-insured pharmacy benefit program
- Prior experience with operating a pharmacy specialty program
- Prior experience with pharmacy accreditations such as URAC and ACHC
- Current valid State of Florida Pharmacist license
