Piedmont Health Services (PHS), based in Chapel Hill, NC, seeks a strategic, inspirational, mission-driven executive to serve as the organization's next Chief Executive Officer (CEO). PHS is one of the nation's first Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC). Today, PHS employs more than 600 staff and has ten health center locations providing an array of medical, dental and senior care services, along with two PACE SeniorCare locations providing seniors with comprehensive long-term health, social, medical and dietary care. With approximately $70 million in revenue, PHS has been at the forefront of expanding access and providing affordable, comprehensive health services across its service area since 1970.
Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the CEO will develop and execute the strategic direction and vision for PHS as it embarks on its next chapter. The CEO will partner with the Board and senior leadership to develop PHS's strategic plan ensuring the achievement of its mission as well as long-term growth and sustainability. The CEO will identify opportunities to improve and stabilize financial operations; oversee program development across the enterprise; and empower staff by fostering a supportive, inclusive, and engaging culture. The CEO will ensure a continued mission-driven focus on advancing health equity in marginalized communities and addressing racial justice issues.
The ideal candidate will be an inclusive, relationship-driven leader committed to building mission-driven, high-performing teams. The CEO will be a robust and visible presence internally and externally, able to connect with staff at all levels and champion PHS in local, regional, and national landscapes. Candidates should demonstrate a strong passion for serving underserved communities, a commitment to the organization's mission and work, and a strong commitment to ethical standards. This leader will need to understand and appreciate the history of the PHS brand in the community and how to protect and practice brand stewardship. Additionally, the CEO will be expected to live and work in the Chapel Hill, North Carolina area to build impactful relationships.
