Neuroradiology Imaging Chief at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB)

The Department of Radiology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) seeks a full-time radiologist to serve as chief of the neuroradiology section. Academic rank will depend on qualifications and experience.

 UAB is a state-of-the-art academic medical center with a robust Department of Radiology and growing clinical neuroradiology service. There is a collaborative relationship with our neuroscience colleagues, evidenced by numerous weekly interdisciplinary conferences and research collaborations.

 This leader will be a member of the Radiology Leadership Council and will be expected to provide inspirational leadership, with a commitment to academic excellence in research, teaching and patient care.  The chief is responsible for the supervision and evaluation of faculty performance across all academic missions and will provide leadership and mentorship as well as assist in or lead research collaborations.

 The ideal candidate has strong patient-centered clinical skills, board certified by the American Board of Radiology with a specialty certificate in neuroradiology, and have completed fellowship training in neuroradiology imaging (or clinical equivalent). Candidates must be eligible to practice medicine in Alabama.

 The Department of Radiology consists of 109 faculty members, including 19 physicists and PhD researchers. The neuroradiology section has 10 faculty members and four ACGME-approved fellowship training positions. There are 32 diagnostic radiology residents and 10 integrated interventional radiology residents.
