St. Luke's Health System in Boiuse, ID is seeking a Director Senior, Actuarial Services & Analytics to join our Health Partners team.
Summary
The St. Luke's Health Partners (Network) Senior Director, Actuarial Services & Analytics supports all actuarial and financial services by providing healthcare economic analytics for regulated risk bearing entities. Through economic research, this role oversees the development of analytic tools and models in support of St. Luke's strategic objectives. As a key role in supporting the overall goal of improving health outcomes and lowering the total cost of care in our communities, this senior leader serves as the authority for the enterprise regarding actuarial and analytic functions.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for developing healthcare economic models that provide direct support of all actuarial functions. These models include, but are not limited to, patient stratification, utilization trends, clinical program evaluation, medical cost structures, key estimates, and reserves.
- Supports actuarial, contracting, and financial functions related to payer partnerships and product strategy, including assessment of rate structures and underwriting analyses. Provides recommendations based on analysis of information regarding methods to reduce cost through benefit design.
- Monitors the impact of care management programs while seeking insight into areas of opportunity for improvement. Manages program performance through measurement of key metrics as well as monitoring clinical and economic behavior.
- Recommends new programs and consults on strategic initiatives designed to improve clinical outcomes and lower costs for our communities.
- Develops and directs requirements for information needed to accurately assess various elements of risk, cost, utilization, and related financial impact on the enterprise.
- Provides support to pertinent functional areas of the organization by offering technical expertise regarding rating and benefit evaluation, cost and utilization reporting.
- Actively participates as a key team member in senior leader team meetings and executive committees, providing input into operational and strategic initiatives as they relate to the healthcare economic function of the company.
- Communicates and presents operational goals and activities to achieve organizational strategic objectives to executive leadership and Board of Directors. Provides input to strategic and long-range objectives, plans, and policies to the appropriate governance bodies.
- Communicates strategic and operational plans, goals, policies, and important topics to all appropriate levels and locations of the organization in a timely manner. Coordinates business activities by maintaining collaborative partnerships with key stakeholders/teams throughout the enterprise.
- Responsible for oversight, management, development, implementation and communication of initiatives and programs.
- Independently resolves complex/highly sensitive problems and administers conflict resolution that fosters effective work relationships with peers, board members, staff, community, and other stakeholders.
- Responsible for full employment life cycle for staff to include hiring, termination, performance management, coaching, training, and mentoring to staff. Develops, maintains, and mentors staff required for healthcare economic activities required to support the strategic goals of the enterprise.

Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in business, economics, mathematics, or a related field
- Experience: 8 year's relevant experience with FSA certification or 10 years' relevant experience with ASA certification
- Licenses/Certifications: Active member of American Academy of Actuaries, Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) or Active member of American Academy of Actuaries, Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA)
