Position Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced nursing leader to join our team, as the Manager Pediatric Emergency Department at our East Valley Hospital, with a planned opening end of 2026 to early 2027. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of our newest community hospital opening from the beginning. The ideal candidate will be a skilled leader with a passion for emergency care, capable of overseeing departmental operations in a rapidly changing environment, while fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration. The manager will provide support and oversight for both supervisory and frontline clinical team members that includes approximately 55 FTE’s. Our state-of-the-art Pediatric Emergency Department is equipped with 24 beds, including 4 safer rooms, 1 treatment room, and 1 resuscitation bay. We are committed to providing the highest level of care to our pediatric patients in a supportive and cutting-edge environment. This position manages, evaluates and supervises operational functions and activities of assigned area by guiding and supporting staff and serving as liaison with other departments to facilitate quick resolution of issues to ensure excellence in a family centered care environment.
Education
Bachelor`s in Nursing (Required)
Masters in related field (Preferred)
Experience
Five years of experience in the specialty area or with a pediatric patient population to include leadership and / or supervisory responsibilities. (Required)
Three or more years of experience in an Emergency Department. (Preferred)
Certifications
Current AZ RN license or an RN license from a compact state with multistate privileges or the ability to establish licensure to Arizona law prior to start date. (Required)
Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association. (Required)
PALS certification from the American Heart Association within one year of hire. (Preferred)
National Nursing or related certification (e.g. CPEN, CEN, CNML) (Preferred)
Special Skills
Analytical and statistical skills necessary to develop and monitor unit operating and personnel budgets. (Required)
Demonstrates critical thinking and problem solving abilities in order to resolve complex clinical, systems and personnel problems and issues which affect the unit and inpatient departments (Required)
