Join Phoenix Children’s as the Clinical Manager for our Oncology Hematology Blood & Marrow Transplant (BMT) program, leading one of the most specialized pediatric teams in the Southwest. This leadership opportunity oversees a large, high-acuity inpatient service line supporting children with oncology, hematology, immunology, and blood and marrow transplant needs.
The Clinical Manager provides operational and people leadership for a team consisting of approximately 10 direct reports and more than 120 indirect team members. This role is primarily focused on staff development, operational excellence, quality outcomes, patient safety, and fostering a highly engaged team culture. Direct patient care is not a routine responsibility of this position.
We are seeking an experienced nursing leader with a minimum of five years of Oncology, Hematology, or BMT experience who is passionate about building strong teams, leading through growth and change, and driving exceptional clinical outcomes. The ideal candidate will possess a systems-thinking mindset, strong collaboration skills, and a commitment to creating a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.

The Manager, Clinical Service promotes family-centered care by subscribing to and supporting Phoenix Children’s mission and values. This position manages, evaluates and supervises operational functions and activities of an assigned area by guiding and supporting staff. The Manager, Clinical Service also serves as a liaison with other departments to plan, implement, communicate, evaluate and coordinate patient care operations across the enterprise, while also facilitating quick resolution of issues to ensure excellence in a family centered care environment.
Education
Bachelor’s in Nursing. (Required)
Master’s degree in related field. (Preferred)
Experience
Five years of experience in the specialty area or with a pediatric patient population to include leadership and / or supervisory responsibilities. (Required)
Certifications
Current AZ RN license or an RN license from a compact state with multistate privileges or the ability to establish licensure to Arizona law prior to start date. (Required)
Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association. (Required)
PALS certification from the American Heart Association within one year of hire. (Preferred)
National nursing or related certification (e.g. CPN, CCRN, CNML) (Preferred)
Special Skills
Analytical and statistical skills necessary to develop and monitor unit operating and personnel budgets. (Required)
Demonstrates critical thinking and problem solving abilities in order to resolve complex clinical, systems and personnel problems and issues which affect the unit and inpatient departments (Required)
