Are you a licensed psychologist who enjoys developing emerging clinicians, providing thoughtful supervision, and contributing to a collaborative, growth-oriented team?
Bridges of the Mind Psychological Services is seeking a Training Director to lead and refine clinical training across our practicum, internship, and postdoctoral programs. This is a unique opportunity to play a meaningful role in shaping the development of future clinicians while remaining actively engaged in direct clinical work.
At Bridges of the Mind, we serve individuals across the lifespan with learning and developmental differences through clarifying assessments and personalized interventions. We are committed not only to the families we serve but also to creating an environment where clinicians can grow, contribute, and thrive. Our work is guided by the values of Growth, Empathy, Collaboration, and Empowerment, which are reflected in our clinical practice, supervision model, and team culture.
Qualifications
PsyD or PhD in Psychology, Educational Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution
Current, active, and unrestricted California license in good standing
Minimum of 2–3 years of clinical supervision experience, including serving as a primary supervisor for practicum students, interns, and/or postdoctoral fellows
Experience with or exposure to APA-accredited or accreditation-seeking training programs preferred
Demonstrated competency in psychological assessment, including autism assessment (ADOS-2 experience preferred)
Strong understanding of ethical and legal standards in clinical practice and training
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively
Comfort using clinical and training-related technology (e.g., EHR systems, video conferencing, learning platforms)
Why This Role Is Distinct
Our training program is well-established. This role is not about building a program from scratch, but about maintaining consistency, strengthening systems, and supporting trainee development over time.
As a clinical leader in the organization, the Training Director will:
Ensure high-quality, consistent training experiences across practicum, internship, and postdoctoral levels
Support continued progress toward APA accreditation
Refine and strengthen systems that support trainee growth and program integrity
This role offers a strong balance of leadership and clinical work, with approximately half of your time focused on training leadership and program oversight, and half dedicated to direct clinical services.
What You Will Do
In this role, you will lead and support training across doctoral practicum students, APPIC doctoral interns, and APPIC postdoctoral fellows.

Monitor trainee progress and provide clear, actionable feedback
Ensure compliance with program requirements, timelines, and documentation standards
Conduct quality assurance reviews of trainee documentation and clinical work
Support onboarding, training, and ongoing development of all trainees
Collaboration & Program Development
Partner closely with the Clinical Director and leadership team to strengthen training systems and operations
Participate in trainee recruitment, interviewing, and selection
Contribute to performance review processes and ongoing program improvement
Support projects related to training operations, assessment efficiency, and program growth
Help advance the organization’s progress toward APA accreditation
Direct Clinical Services
Maintain a consistent testing caseload
Model high-quality clinical care and reinforce organizational standards
Balance clinical responsibilities with training leadership in a sustainable and consistent way
Who Will Thrive in This Role
The strongest fit for this role is someone who genuinely enjoys helping others grow and can operate effectively within a structured, team-based environment.
We are especially looking for someone who:
Is passionate and experienced in neurodevelopmental assessment, with a commitment to high-quality, evidence-based care and developing the next generation of neuroaffirmative clinicians
Adapts their supervision to meet each trainee where they are and supports growth toward independence
Is highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage structure, timelines, and program requirements
Thinks independently and can identify and address challenges within their scope while keeping leadership aligned
Contributes to a supportive, collaborative team environment and values shared learning
Balances clear expectations with a supportive, growth-oriented approach
Finds meaning in both direct clinical work and developing others, and is energized by doing both
The ideal candidate is thoughtful, reliable, and collaborative, with the ability to balance relational connection and accountability in a way that supports both trainee development and program integrity.
