Position Description
The Division of Allergy & Immunology in the Department of Pediatrics at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago and Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine is seeking an exemplary leader to serve as Division Head. This position offers the opportunity to provide strategic leadership during a pivotal period of growth and transformation. The Division Head will set and execute the division's strategic vision while overseeing all clinical care, research endeavors, educational efforts, advocacy, and administrative operations.
The Division of Pediatric Allergy & Immunology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, based clinically at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago, provides comprehensive care for children with allergic, immunologic, and inflammatory disorders. The division integrates clinical care, research, and education across inpatient, outpatient, and procedural settings. There are currently 14 Pediatric Allergy and Immunology board certified/ board eligible faculty in the division plus 3 Pediatric Allergy and Immunology Fellows and 4 advance practice providers with significant opportunity for growth and recruitment.

The successful candidate will be a strategic, thoughtful leader with robust experience in an academic medical center setting. Candidates should have an interest in faculty and fellow mentorship, as it is a key responsibility in supporting career growth and development. This individual will act as the representative in interactions with Department leadership, Lurie Children’s Medical Group leadership, hospital administration, external groups and philanthropic donors. The individual in this role is responsible for oversight of divisional operational, philanthropic, and grant funding in partnership with the Executive Director and Division Administrator.
The new Division Head should have demonstrated leadership in clinical care, research development, education, and/or administration, strong clinical expertise and proven track record of scholarly activity within allergy and immunology. Additionally, the candidate should be a strategic, thoughtful leadership approach with robust experience in academic medical center settings and a demonstrated commitment to faculty mentorship and career development. The candidate should be a MD, or MD/PhD, with board certification and fellowship training in Pediatric Allergy and Immunology, a minimum 5–7 years of post-fellowship clinical experience and medical licensure in Illinois (or ability to obtain).
The start date is negotiable, and the position will remain open until it is filled.
Compensation and Benefits
The expected base pay range for this position is $258,000 - $370,000.
Northwestern University has provided a pay range representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for the position. The pay offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors including (but not limited to) the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate including years since terminal degree, training, and field or discipline; departmental budget availability; internal comparators; and external market pay for comparable jobs.
